THE HEARTH YURT & HEARTHSIDE

A natural space for soulful work

Are you looking to hold workshops, eco-therapy sessions, trainings or ceremony on intentionally held land?
Would you like to have access to mature woodland, outdoor ceremonial space, fire pit and field kitchen as part of your practice/workshop venue?

We offer exactly the above. Here’s what’s included:

Sheltered Space

The Hearth Yurt boasts a reed-carpeted, light interior with a woodburner and twenty comfortable backjacks to service a group. It’s set in its own private area with picnic benches, a firepit, compost loo and field kitchen providing rustic tea and food-making facilities. It is available all year.

Ceremonial Space

The nearby quarry-hewn Hearthside is included in the yurt hire providing an extraordinary “natural room” enclosed on three sides with living slate walls, framed by elder trees. With retractable rain-cover and large firepit, it makes an ideal atmosphere for events, groups and ceremony.

Wild Space

A short stroll away you also have access to the species-rich grassland and wild-flower meadow which drops down, via a rewilding brush and sapling area, to the cool, shallow stream. Beyond that lies five acres of mature woodland with a hazel coppice at the far end. This zone provides habitat for biodiversity, and - for us humans - an opportunity to get lost, sink into silence and enter natural solitude. A wood-fired hot tub is available to hire.

Functional Space

The Barn provides open-sided shelter, hay bales to sit on and wood-stacked walls to warm the spirit. A great place to eat or relax if seeking shelter from the elements. This is also the place to charge devices if needed and to find firewood.

The Field Kitchen has an urn, gas hobs, teas, fridges, a prepping area, cooking equipment, cutlery etc.

There is a compost loo between the yurt and field kitchen.
